Overcoming Stage Fright in Three Easy StepsOne of the biggest fears that people have is that of getting up and giving a speech or presentation in front of an audience. For some people the fear that they experience is overwhelming and they can't really say why. Many of them do not have a difficult time speaking with a person one on one, but whenever they get up in front of an audience they seem to fall apart. If you suffer from stage fright or if the thought of getting up in front of a group of people makes you nervous than here are some ways that you can overcome that fright in just three easy steps. By the use of Proper Relaxation Techniques - Your breath has a lot to do with the way you react to different things. Even though you may have not have thought about it very often, if you really stop to consider it, your breath is what gives you both energy and life. Whenever you are nervous about something your breath tends to come in short bursts. This is typically the case whenever you get up in front of the group of people and are dealing with stage fright. The problem is that this shortness of breath will come through as nervousness to your audience. It is therefore important to practice some deep breathing techniques before you get up on the platform. You can also use these deep breathing techniques while you are speaking but be careful not to overdo it. Deep breathing will help to pull energy from your body and to give you the strength needed to overcome her stage fright. By the Use of Proper Preparation - if you want to be comfortable while you are on the platform then you need to prepare well in advance. If you are not prepared when you get up in front of an audience you will not be able to focus your energies on what you are saying. It is possible that your fear may completely take you over at this point. So make sure that you prepare well in advance so that you are comfortable with the information that you will be giving. By Feeding off of the Audience - as you go through your presentation your audience will begin to react to what you are saying. Pick out a friendly person in the audience and concentrate on them. Of course you will not want to make them uncomfortable by staring at them throughout your presentation but try to consider that you are speaking to them personally and not to a larger group. By using these three techniques you will be able to be more comfortable when you are speaking in front of a group. It is not necessary to completely erase your stage fright as a little bit of nervousness will help you to remain focused on your presentation. But there is no need for you to be overcome by fear to the point where you are unable to speak. Just remember to prepare, relax and use the feedback of the audience.
